Liberation
Leading up to the midterm elections on Nov. 6th, 2018, I partnered with For Freedoms to create a billboard for their 50 State Initiative in order to use art to encourage more dialogue and civic engagement. This billboard placed in Des Moines presents a quote by Audre Lorde about the idea of social liberation.
In 2020, the work was installed on the windows of the Judd Foundation in New York City.
About For Freedoms: For Freedoms outdoor activations invite artists to use the tools of art and advertising to encourage civic engagement. We believe that if artists’ voices replace advertising across the country, public discourse will become more nuanced.
